The Griffis Art Center

The Griffis Art Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit visual arts organization founded in 1989 that hosts international artists for three-month residency periods twice a year. The Ou Gallery

Our Great Room, with its modern fireplace, original fir floors, 12’ ceilings and huge windows overlooking a creek fed by Mount Swuq'us (and frequented by herons and owls) is a perfect spot to unwind and connect with other creatives after a full day in the studio. Treehouse Artist Residency is an artist-run alternative studio and gallery located in Muskoka near Algonquin Park that supports independent and emerging artists in creating new networks. The residency provides studio and gallery spaces equipped with painting facilities, accommodations with four bedrooms, and access to the local arts community inspired by the Group of Seven legacy.

TYPA Artist in Residence

Tartu, Estonia

TYPA Artist in Residence is a dynamic residency program founded in at the TYPA Paper and Print Centre in Tartu, Estonia, welcoming artists from Nordic and Baltic countries as well as international artists. The program offers 3-month residencies with access to printmaking and paper arts facilities, accommodation, workspace, and financial support, while also accepting artists working in diverse mediums including new media, sculpture, sound, and painting.

The Jan van Eyck Academie is a multidisciplinary post-academic institute in Maastricht, Netherlands, offering an 11-month residency program that welcomes 30-42 participants annually from around the world. The residency supports artists, designers, architects, curators, writers, and other creative practitioners to develop, materialize, and disseminate their research through access to studios, specialized labs, and a collaborative community.

The program provides fully funded residencies with accommodation, studio space, and support across diverse disciplines including visual arts, music, literature, architecture, and crafts, maintaining a legacy of artistic patronage dating back to 1666.

Warm Heart Art Tanzania (WHAT) is a handmade paper center and art studio in Arusha, Tanzania, founded to provide artist residencies, training, employment, and sustainable income to the local community. It offers facilities for about 10 artists to live and work, including a papermaking workshop, gallery space, restaurant, garden, and basic amenities like bedrooms, bathrooms, and internet.
