Darat al Funun's artists-in-residence program, initiated in 1995, creates a stimulating environment for artists from the Arab world and abroad to explore new fields, work, exhibit, and conduct workshops. Housed in historic 1920s buildings in Amman alongside archaeological sites, it supports creative encounters through collaborations like UNESCO-Aschberg and Pro Helvetia, and includes initiatives such as the relaunched Summer Academy for regional artists. Residents produce works for exhibitions and utilize spaces like The Lab for experimental projects.

Makan Art Space is an independent contemporary art platform established in in Amman, Jordan, functioning as a dynamic hub for artists, cultural producers, and activists. It operates artist residency programs, workshops, exhibitions, and collaborative projects with a focus on experimental art practices and social engagement. The space serves as an alternative to formal institutional art venues, fostering local and international artistic exchange and networking.
