The Iris Project Residency, based in Echo Park, California, provides artists, curators, writers, musicians, and cultural thinkers with the time, space, and support to freely explore and develop their practices. Since its founding in , the residency has supported 39 creatives, offering an environment where experimentation and reflection are valued as essential components of cultural growth. Our mission is rooted in accessibility and freedom. We offer affordable, year-round residencies without production requirements, allowing participants to focus on open-ended exploration. Residents are encouraged to engage with Los Angeles’s vibrant cultural ecosystem through conversations, studio visits, and community connections, fostering relationships that extend beyond the residency itself and strengthen the broader arts landscape. Residencies are awarded on a rolling basis. Residents are responsible for their own travel, meals, and transportation. The duration of residencies varies from seven (minimum) to fourteen days. There are no publication, exhibition, or performance requirements for those awarded a residency.
