The Life on a Leaf Residency is an artist and researcher program hosted in a unique leaf-shaped house in Turku, Finland, designed as a total artwork by Jan-Erik Andersson and architect Erkki Pitkäranta, focusing on themes of urban space, built environment, art, architecture, and their intersections. Residents live and work in the three-story 147 m² house on a spacious plot bordering a natural forest in Hirvensalo, suitable primarily for planning, drawing, and computer-based creative or research work, with support from a residency coordinator for local contacts. The program duration is typically 2-6 months, with rent required but no stipend provided.
