About
Artist Residencies Enschede (ARE), founded in 2007, is an internationally recognized organization that offers visual artists a chance to immerse themselves in a new community, fostering cultural exchange and creativity. Situated within the B93 art initiative building in Enschede, the Netherlands, ARE encourages interactions between guest artists and local artists, often starting with a welcoming dinner. Monthly, B93 hosts an exhibition (Carte Blanche) and an opening in the same building. ARE offers two guest studios for international artists for a three-month period, culminating in a solo exhibition at B93's exhibition space. The residency provides a conducive environment for creativity, including working facilities and opportunities to connect with a local audience. ARE's mission is to support artists globally in their artistic development and to promote cultural exchange and global connections. ARE collaborates with B93 and is a partner in the Beeldende Kunst Overijssel (BKO) platform.
