Launched in by the Françoise Association and the Cité internationale des arts, this research and creative residency programme explores the links between contemporary art, psychiatry and the humanities. Conceived as an open research space, this programme is not a therapeutic programme. It is open to artists of all nationalities whose practice resonates with the notion of the ‘clinical’. This refers to a situated approach, as close as possible to the subject, ‘at the patient’s bedside’. Within the context of the residency, this approach shifts towards the artistic field: creation is envisaged here as a grounded, relational practice, attentive to the contexts in which it takes shape. The programme thus promotes approaches that remain as close as possible to real-life narratives and experiences, and which engage in a reflection on the challenges of care. Lanesboro Arts invites Black, Indigenous, Persons of Color (BIPOC) artists in Minnesota to apply for the Lanesboro Arts BIPOC Artist Residency Program. This personally tailored residency program offers the opportunity for support and open access to Lanesboro Arts and Lanesboro Area, facilities, personnel, and natural environment. Applications for this program are due by 11:59 pm on Monday, August 10th, . After that, the lottery process will take place by August 14th and applicants will be notified if they were chosen through the lottery system. If there are still available residencies left after the initial , applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, ending once residencies fill up. Residencies will happen between September – April . There are 8 weeks of residencies available to distribute for ’s program. This program offers residency support for Minnesota BIPOC practicing artists and their families at all stages in their careers, working in all mediums. The artist is welcome to use studio space for art if desired, but it is not required. As such, there is no output or product required for this residency. However, there is one community share-back opportunity required for this residency, which could be a community workshop, school visit, small gathering, or blog post. This will be arranged with LA staff once selected. The length of residency is optional between one and two weeks long, as it fits within Lanesboro Arts events calendar. Artists can request to be in a cohort residency model, where another BIPOC artist would be in residence at at the same time. Cohort residency artists are hosted in separate residency living spaces. Applicants may apply together for a cohort residency, or indicate openness to being in residence at the same time as another artist without having a particular cohort in mind. Each artist will receive their own stipend and artist supplies budget.

The MAK – Austrian Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna, is going to award a total of six scholarships for residency at the Mackey Apartments, Los Angeles, in /. These scholarships are open to four free-lance artists, two advanced students of architecture (“2. Studienabschnitt”), and graduates of architecture immediately after completion of their degree. The involvement of the MAK – Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art with Rudolph M. Schindler’s work began with one of the first exhibitions held at the new MAK in 1986 entitled R. M. Schindler, Architect, 1887−1953, which was the first time his œuvre was shown in Austria. This important exhibition revealed how little known this Austrian architect’s buildings were not only in his home country but internationally as well. When in winter 1991 the MAK explored what was left of Schindler's buildings in and around Los Angeles, it quickly became obvious that the situation had changed very little in the meantime. Retracing Schindler's steps led to La Jolla, to the Pueblo Ribera built in 1923/1925 and now heavily damaged, which was in the way of the developers, to his abandoned Kings Road House, which had once been the architect’s home and studio, to Silver Lake, where some of his “most elegant” villas can still be seen, and to Newport Beach, where the icon of the Lovell Beach House has been altered by later additions. The encounter with R. M. Schindler in L.A. turned more and more into a “commitment” towards the voluntary exile and, thus, into an opportunity for Austria, the country that had lost and exiled thousands of people. This was the starting point for the idea of an initiative that would not only encourage the preservation of R. M. Schindler’s buildings but—and perhaps even more importantly—also continue his vision in order to promote and influence today’s art and architecture. The Windgate Artist in Residence at UA Little Rock is a semester-long residency program open to artists, designers, and craftspeople. This residency offers the selected applicant the opportunity to create work and engage with the School of Art and Design community, as well as the greater Little Rock community. The primary goal of the residency program is to provide time to make and develop work, and the space to make it while interacting with our community. This program provides a $30,000 stipend, housing, funding for materials and travel, studio space, and access to UA Little Rock’s extensive studios. The selected artist will have 24-hour access to a private studio and specialized areas including: a Woodshop equipped with a CNC and laser cutter, Ceramics Studio, Jewelry and Metalsmithing Studio, Smithy and Foundry, Photography Studio, and a Printmaking Studio.
