Designregio Kortrijk annually invites recently graduated designers from various creative disciplines to participate in its Designers in Residence Kortrijk program. Established in 2014, this residency allows selected designers to develop experimental concepts through interactions with citizens, society, entrepreneurs, and education in Kortrijk. Running from September to November, participants create contextual work and engage in inspiring excursions and conversations. The residency includes travel reimbursement, accommodation, a fee, and access to the Budalab Open Makerspace. Designers showcase their research at the Kortrijk Creativity Festival and Design Fest Gent. Eligible candidates must be recent graduates with manual and conceptual skills, ready to collaborate and innovate.

Kunsthal Gent

Kunsthal Gent, located in a 14th-century Carmelite monastery in Ghent, Belgium, offers residency programs including approximately six mini-residencies per year (up to 1 week with apartment access and €500 budget) and a Development Fellowship for up to 3 months with up to €5,000 budget for research and practice development. These programs support artists, collectives, and organizations in visual arts, architecture, design, audiovisual, performing arts, and public space, fostering experimentation, collaboration, and integration into the public programme. International participants receive an apartment, with irregular open calls for applications.

Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens

The Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens residency program, hosted in the iconic Woning Van Wassenhove modernist house in Sint-Martens-Latem, Belgium, offers Europe-based practitioners in visual arts, art & architecture, or writing up to 4 consecutive weeks for reflection, research, and limited production while respecting the heritage site. Residents receive institutional support, organize a public presentation, and benefit from funding including travel, per diem, and production budget. The program emphasizes solitary practice in this architecturally significant space designed by Juliaan Lampens.
