Launched in by the Françoise Association and the Cité internationale des arts, this research and creative residency programme explores the links between contemporary art, psychiatry and the humanities. Conceived as an open research space, this programme is not a therapeutic programme. It is open to artists of all nationalities whose practice resonates with the notion of the ‘clinical’. This refers to a situated approach, as close as possible to the subject, ‘at the patient’s bedside’. Within the context of the residency, this approach shifts towards the artistic field: creation is envisaged here as a grounded, relational practice, attentive to the contexts in which it takes shape. The programme thus promotes approaches that remain as close as possible to real-life narratives and experiences, and which engage in a reflection on the challenges of care. AWARE

AWARE: Archives of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions, offers a three-month research residency at Villa Vassilieff in Paris, focusing on women and non-binary photographers and video artists. The residency provides participants with accommodation in a 44m² independent living and working studio, access to AWARE’s extensive resource center, and a monthly stipend of €900. Residents will have the opportunity to engage with AWARE’s institutional, artistic, and academic networks, and are encouraged to host a public event and produce a research article for publication. Science New Wave (SNW)

The SNW Luminary Residency is a selective program located in Paris, exclusively available to Science New Wave (SNW) Luminary Members. This residency is designed for artists, scientists, researchers, and interdisciplinary creators who aim to challenge traditional boundaries of scientific storytelling. Residents stay for three weeks in Galerie Labocine, which also serves as their workspace, with one resident hosted each month during February, March, and April 2025. Participants are required to produce a short film in any format, which will premiere at the Science New Wave Festival in New York and be featured on the Labocine platform. Residents will document their creative process and participate in weekly meetings with the Labocine team. To apply, candidates must be SNW Luminary Members and submit a cover letter, project proposal, and video work via the Labocine platform. The residency provides an immersive and reflective environment to foster new approaches to interdisciplinary work.

Each year, the Résidence welcomes a dozen young directors to work on their first or second feature-length fiction film project, in two four-and-a-half month sessions. The Résidence offers its laureates the opportunity of devoting themselves to the writing of their feature films in a privileged setting in the heart of Paris. Over the four and a half months of their stay at the Résidence, every filmmaker is accompanied in the development of his or her script, and advised in the transition to production. The programme also includes a series of collective forums with industry professionals. Since it launched in , the Résidence has welcomed over 300 filmmakers from more than 60 different countries, including Lucrecia Martel (Argentina), Lukas Dhont (Belgium), Corneliu Porumboiu (Romania), László Némes and Kornel Mundruczó (Hungary), and more. Many of the graduates from this ‘Villa Médici’ of the silver screen have gone on to be selected for international festivals: Nadav Lapid from Israel (Synonyms, Golden Bear ), Nadine Labaki from Lebanon (Capharnaüm, César and Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film ) and Michel Franco from Mexico (New Order, Grand Jury Prize at the Mostra ).
