Launched in by the Françoise Association and the Cité internationale des arts, this research and creative residency programme explores the links between contemporary art, psychiatry and the humanities. Conceived as an open research space, this programme is not a therapeutic programme. It is open to artists of all nationalities whose practice resonates with the notion of the ‘clinical’. This refers to a situated approach, as close as possible to the subject, ‘at the patient’s bedside’. Within the context of the residency, this approach shifts towards the artistic field: creation is envisaged here as a grounded, relational practice, attentive to the contexts in which it takes shape. The programme thus promotes approaches that remain as close as possible to real-life narratives and experiences, and which engage in a reflection on the challenges of care. The Cité internationale des Arts, founded in 1965, is a renowned artist residency program in Paris, France.
