The residency aims to offer artists the right conditions and support to foster the development of their projects, allowing them to work freely and experiment within a fully equipped workshop and gallery space. Located in the heart of Barcelona's cosmopolitan neighborhood, surrounded by modernist architecture, the residency does not include accommodation but assists artists in finding suitable living arrangements. Artists can apply for residencies ranging from 2 to 12 weeks and will have access to over 120 m^2 of workspace to bring their creative projects to life. While artists must secure their own funding, La Maldita Estampa is willing to provide invitation letters for grants or subsidies. The residency culminates in an Open Studio event or a solo exhibition, allowing artists to showcase their work to the public.

The Print Studio & Gallery, La Maldita Estampa, is a place created by artists to give support to other artists, focused on the contemporary printmaking process. We created the opportunity and the right conditions to host international artists in Barcelona (Spain) with its Artists in Residence Programme, offering its space formed by a fully equipped workshop and its gallery, an ideal place for the diffusion and promotion of the work of the resident artists. Addressed to professional artists or artists in training who want to develop their artistic project in a different environment and context, who want to experiment or learn about a specific technique or various graphic techniques, we use traditional and contemporary graphic processes, experimentation is a key factor in contemporary graphics.Our aim is to offer resident artists the resources, support and guidance necessary for the optimal development of their projects. To make the artist feel as if they were in their own studio, working freely, developing, experimenting, researching and achieving the highest quality as a final result. In short, to make their stay a fun, rewarding and productive experience. We receive artists from different artistic disciplines, curators, and national managers and international organizations that are interested in developing their projects in the different techniques of traditional printing process; parallel talks, meetings, visits and exhibitions that complement each of the artistic projects to be developed. R.A.R.O. introduces a format that has the particularity of being itinerant, receives national and international artists, curators, and cultural managers to develop their projects in the different R.A.R.O. workshops from the city of Barcelona at the same time that generates talks, meetings, visits and exhibitions that complement each project.
