Creative and inspirational environment, good size studio space with wood workshop and tools. You can work with found materials and if you like, site specific work in the area. Interesting industrial history with a museum and archives with helpful staff, as well as lots of visual input from around the area. A well planned and organized residency with lovely people!

The residency was quite well organized and structured to foster strong group dynamics as well as individual growth. The technical support was phenomenal, and should be taken advantage of!

PADA is located in Barreiro which is 40 minutes away from Lisbon and fairly cheaper place from Lisbon. There are a lot of shops around for food and art supplies. The industrial site offers a lot of waste materials for projects. It is very inspiring. I believe the best month to go to PADA is September due to the weather in Portugal.
