The Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos (CCA Lagos) offers artist residencies through its Àsìkò Art School program, initiated in 2010 as part art workshop, part residency, and part art academy to address educational gaps in critical methodologies and histories of artistic practice in Nigeria and Africa.[1][5] It emphasizes critical thinking, conceptual ideas, research, writing, and discourse alongside studio practice, targeting artists, curators, and cultural practitioners from Africa and the diaspora.[2][1] The intensive program includes structured segments led by lead artists/curators, with international exchange residencies via partnerships like ISCP New York and ZK/U Berlin.[4]
