Black Room is Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event’s training programme dedicated to the visual language and artistry of cinema. Each year, it brings together emerging and established members of the art department—including production designers, art directors, costume designers, makeup artists, prop masters, and other visual storytellers—for an intensive masterclass designed to strengthen their creative skills, expand their industry knowledge, and deepen their understanding of how compelling cinematic worlds are created. The programme consists of a four-day intensive workshop for eight selected art department professionals. Led each year by a renowned international mentor, Black Room explores a topic that reflects current developments and challenges within the film industry, helping participants enhance their expertise and grow as creative professionals. The 2026 edition will focus on production design, with further details to be announced in autumn.
