About
The International Lab for Art Practices (ILAP) is an online art residency experience and art project incubator designed to promote personal and professional growth among artists, curators, critics, researchers, educators, and professionals in the cultural sector. Emphasizing a model of 'assisted studio practice', ILAP fosters dialogue and organic relationships between participants and various art field agents, adapting principles from traditional art schools like the Royal College of Arts and De Atelies to the digital realm. This model supports flexible, participant-driven experiences without predetermined outcomes, focusing on the evolution of each participant's project and practice. ILAP champions a community-based approach to education over individual-centric methods, prioritizing collaborative growth and strong, sustainable bonds within the arts. The program covers contemporary art debates, the international art scene, project development, and digital presence, among other topics. Structured in quarters, ILAP offers a comprehensive year-long engagement with cycles dedicated to critique, process and research, and project development. Participants benefit from exhibition opportunities, a private online platform, exclusive group meetings, and access to a media library, live talks, and special events. Enrollment is limited to 10 participants per group to ensure quality interactions.
