Printmaking Residencies in Tanzania

Tanzania Art Residency is a small, intimate residency based on the outskirts of Arusha, Tanzania, offering artists time, space, and support to deepen their practice in a focused setting. The program runs four 2-month sessions per year and includes opportunities for local engagement, optional excursions, and an end-of-residency exhibition.

Warm Heart Art Tanzania (WHAT) is a handmade paper center and art studio in Arusha, Tanzania, founded to provide artist residencies, training, employment, and sustainable income to the local community. It offers facilities for about 10 artists to live and work, including a papermaking workshop, gallery space, restaurant, garden, and basic amenities like bedrooms, bathrooms, and internet. The program supports artists in creating works inspired by the local environment, with past residencies involving workshops and exhibitions.
