EKWC European Ceramic Workcentre

Oisterwijk, Netherlands

The EKWC European Ceramic Workcentre in Oisterwijk, Netherlands, is an international artist-in-residence and research centre focused on ceramics, welcoming around 60 artists, designers, architects, and other creative professionals annually for 12-13 week residencies to experiment with clay and develop innovative works. It provides advanced studios, workshops, accommodation in separate apartments, technical equipment like kilns and CAD/CAM machinery, a soundlab, library, and guidance from experienced staff, emphasizing research, experimentation, and material exploration often for those new to ceramics. Programs include EKWC Classic for individual practice and the new EKWCLab for specific projects requiring prior ceramics experience.

European Ceramic Workcentre (EKWC)

European Ceramic Workcentre (EKWC), located in Oisterwijk, The Netherlands, annually welcomes around 60 creative professionals from various disciplines worldwide. The residency provides accommodation, studios, workshops, advanced equipment, and guidance from experienced advisors. Each work period lasts twelve weeks, allowing residents to focus on their individual practice, conduct research, experiment, and engage with fellow artists, designers, and staff. The residency supports a continuously evolving community, with a new resident starting and completing their stay each week. Residents range from emerging to established artists, including those new to ceramics. The EKWC encourages residents to embrace new experiences and ask questions.
