Free Artist Residencies in Philadelphia

**RAIR's mission is to challenge the perception of waste culture by providing a unique platform at the intersection of art and industry, and community. Residents are given access to Revolution Recovery’s waste stream as well as access to RAIR’s staff- who work closely with all residents.** **THE STANDARD RESIDENCY**: A longer, more traditional studio-based program. Standard residents are given access to waste materials and a studio and project space during the week and weekends. This residency is good for people who want to dedicate 4-6 full weeks to their project and studio practice at RAIR. **Duration:** 4-6 Weeks March- November **Working hours: _\*minimum of 20 hours per week_** Weekdays 7am-5:30pm\* Weekends 9am-4pm\* _\*additional hours can be scheduled if needed_

Second State Press in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, offers the Fob Holder Program, a hybrid work/trade exchange and residency program providing printmakers 24/7 access to professional printmaking facilities in exchange for working a minimum of 8 scheduled hours per week. Participants monitor the studio, assist with events, and contribute to the studio’s overall function while having dedicated time to work on their own practice. The program runs three sessions annually: Fall, Spring, and Summer, each culminating in an exhibition of the Fob Holders’ work. Basic printmaking knowledge is required, and participants must commit to the program for four months.
