Founded in 1995, the program operates within the historical Civitella Ranieri Castle—a 15th-century fortress offering a unique blend of solitude and community. Over the years, Civitella has welcomed more than 1,000 Fellows and Director’s Guests, comprising writers, composers, and visual artists from around the globe.
